- The external Sportsters had a problem with their components drifting during
- the warmup phase that USR later compensated for in firmware upgrades. The
- most recent firmware for the non Si/Vi modems is the April, 1995 version,
- which corrects most of the heat-related problems. The upgrade is free,
- although the call to get the upgrade is *not.* The voice number is
- 1-847-982-5151. You can also call their BBS at 1-847-982-5092 and enter
- SPV34 after logging in to get to the upgrade door.
